Group Workcamps Returning to Our Valley in 2027!

I am excited to share that Group Workcamps will be returning to our area in 2027. We already have local teens interested in serving, and we have decided to host a camp right here in our valley once again.

I am reaching out because your organization serves members of our community, and we know there are many residents who need assistance to continue living safely and comfortably in their homes. For many families, the cost of home repairs competes with essential expenses such as medication, food, and utilities. As a result, needed projects are often delayed or left unfinished.

Group Workcamps will bring up to 400 youth volunteers and adult leaders from churches across the United States to serve our community. Participants will arrive on Sunday, July 18, 2027, and return home on Saturday, July 24, 2027. They will be housed and fed at a local school and will travel Monday through Friday to project sites located within a 30-minute drive of the lodging facility.

All work is provided at no cost to the homeowner.

Each youth group pays to attend the camp, and local sponsors raise funds to cover building materials and supplies needed for the projects.

We ask your organization to help us identify individuals or families who could benefit from this opportunity. Eligible projects may include:

  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Minor fascia and soffit repairs
  • Mobile home underpinning (skirting) repair or installation
  • Limited roofing projects (roof coatings and roof-overs; no tear-offs)
  • Limited porch repair or construction
  • Wheelchair ramp construction or repair
  • Limited step repair or construction
  • Weatherization projects, including caulking, weather-stripping, insulation, and vent installation

There are also several ways you can partner with us:

  • Share applications with individuals who may need home repairs.
  • Encourage church youth groups to register or join a local participating group (minimum ratio: one adult age 21+ for every five youth).
  • Provide an evening snack for volunteers at the host school and meet these amazing young people.
  • Deliver ice pops or refreshments to volunteers working at project sites.
  • Loan ladders for the week, as volunteer groups often have limited vehicle space.
  • Sponsor a home by helping cover the cost of building supplies, paint, and other materials.

Our team has been involved with Group Workcamps for more than 30 years, and we have seen firsthand the difference these projects make in the lives of homeowners and volunteers alike. We hope you will consider joining us in this exciting opportunity to serve our community—whether through referrals, volunteering, donations, or prayer.

For more information, please contact us. We would be happy to share additional details about the program and how you can become involved.
